LIST ANY PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS THE INSTRUCTOR SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THAT MIGHT AFFECT YOUR ABILITY TO HAMMER FOR A FULL DAY:

DESIRED CLASS SCHEDULE: (LIST THE DAYS/DATES):

Liability release: I understand that blacksmithing involves the use of a forge fire and red hot steel that can severely burn if not handled safely, and small particles of hot scale fly off the steel during forging. I understand it is my responsibility to follow posted shop rules and work with the safety of myself, and others, in the shop always in mind. Hot iron shops are inherently dangerous and I understand constant vigilance is required to work safely.

I accept these inherent risks and recognize my personal responsibility as have all blacksmith students before me.

Parental release signature required for students under 18 years and parent must be on-site for class.

Please enclose your deposit check of $100 with this registration and mail to Bear Path Forge, PO Box 99, Stewarts Point, Ca. 95480.  Full tuition is due prior to the first class.

If you have questions about the class dates, call (707) 847-3675 after 6 pm or e-mail us at blacksmith@hughes.net.   Classes fill on a first deposit received basis. A 4-student maximum will be allowed in each class to insure necessary individual time with each student.

What you need to bring: Safety glasses, loose fitting leather gloves (we carry in stock for $5/pair), and hearing protection (we have free ear plugs).  If you already have a basic blacksmithing tool kit and a favorite hammer, bring them. If not, don’t waste the money until you learn in class what meets the needs of your body and the work you want to do.

Recommended clothing is cotton or wool and boots. Levis and cotton shirts/blouses and boots are perfect. Do NOT wear synthetic clothing as it MELTS to the skin if it touches hot material or flame.  A leather or cotton apron is optional but recommended.
